Howdy, y’all. It’s no great secret that ya boi loves a little country here and there. I am of The Sticks and must, from time to time, hear the songs of my people. For reasons of time and geography and family my foundation of coutntry is strongly rooted in the 90s. No badonkadonks but lots of honky tonks, if you will. I struggle often with modern country because The Thing ain’t there, it’s not doing what I want it to do, so I don’t listen to much. But Then.
I forget exactly how “different kinda country” ended up in my ear holes, but it did. I tell ya what, you want me to listen to the rest of your country album you name drop George Strait in the first 20 seconds. It’s a great song, beach hicks are hicks too, solidarity. So now I’m locked in, just top of the album let’s go and it is just banger after banger. Alana Springsteen has it, boy, in spades. And sometimes, and just sometimes now I’m sayin’, she’s got a little of that vintage John Mayer. Like, just a little. JUST A LITTLE ok, damn.
I’ve listened to this whole album gotta be fifty times at least, just back to back to back. Hard to pick favorites, but I gave it my best. You’d never guess, if you’ve read the rest of the posts, but I think you should listen to the whole album. I know, I know.
